Red Fox

A British businessman, Harrison, is kidnapped in Italy by criminals who demand a ransom. Then a young terrorist gets his hands on Harrison and demands the release of his lover who is one of Italy’s most wanted terrorists. This novel was influenced by some of the stories that Gerald Seymour covered in his time as a reporter. In the 1970s there were a spate of kidnappings in Italy.

This was the fourth Seymour novel to be adapted for television. It was filmed for British TV in 1991 and starred John Hurt (from Alien and 1984) and Brian Cox (The original Hannibal Lector in Manhunter). Although the location was changed to France it was a close adaptation.
